Prepare materials

1.Choose a fabric you want to sew sequins on.

2.Prepare embroidery needles,thread,invisible fabric marker,pins,scissors.

3.Strip of sequins.Not sequins pieces by pieces,buy a strip of sequins.It is that many sequins are attached together and you can tear it off easily.This is important as strip of sequins would be easier than sequins to sew on fabric.

How to sew sequins on fabric by hand

There are many shapes and sizes of sequins and some of it the hole is in the middle,some if it is not,it is fish scale style sequins.For beginner,we suggest it would be better to start with 5mm round sequins with the hole in the middle.

Prepare the thread and needle

Make the thread doubled and make it on needle and make a knot on the end.

How do you sew sequins without breaking needles

Start to sew the sequins

1.Sew first Sequins

Press the strip of sequin the fabric where you want to sew and insert the needle through the sequin hole and fabric to the back of the fabric.Then insert back from the fabric and the edge of the sequin.Repeat the sewing step.It have to be sew twice like that at least to make sure the sequin attached on the fabric sturdy.

2.Cut the sequins from the strips.

3.Continue to sew like the first step.

To make strips of sequins would be much faster than sequins pieces by pieces.And it also would be breaking needles.
