Types of sequin fabric.
Before we get in to how to sew sequin fabric,we will introduce some regularly types of sequin fabrics
1.Glued sequin Fabric
2.3MM Sequin fabric with no direction.
3.Reversible sequin fabric(generally made from 5mm,7mm sequins)
4.Special size sequin fabric,like 9mm,10mm,30mm,50mm round sequins and other special design sequins,like triangle sequins,square sequins and so.
Firstly,glued sequin fabric.This kind of sequin fabric is not embroidered.It is made from sequins hot melt on fabrics,generally there is no hole on the sequins.If you are interested in this kind of sequin fabric,you have to pay attention to the types of glue they use.Some of the glue is not environmental-friendly,maybe harmful for human.
2.The 3mm sequin fabric with no direction.This sequin fabric is made from 3mm sequins with hole in the middle embroidered on the fabric.Generally the base fabric is mesh fabric.And this is the most popular types of sequin fabric for pageant dress.The design generally is customized.And It can be combined with 5mm sequins,7mm sequins to make different pattern.
3.Reversible sequin fabric.This is made from 5mm/7mm sequins(the hole is on the side of the sequins) on fabrics,the base fabric can be satin fabric,two way stretch/four way stretch fabric,velvet fabric or other customized fabric.
4.Special size sequin fabric.The production process is same as the 3mm,5mm sequins.But for beginner it would be start with 3mm sequin fabrics.

Sequin Fabric Sewing Process
First of all,choose a simple pattern sequin fabric for beginner,like the 3mm sequin fabric.The fabric is stretch.
2.Prepare sewing equipment.Scissors,serger, thread,long,high quality needle(the sequins is harder to sew than regular fabric,the needle may easy to broken or soon not so sharp as a new one)
3.Put some large fabrics on the ground to catch the sequins as when you sew the sequin fabric,there would be many sequins drop every where.For easy clean,it would be better to put drop cloth in advance.
4.Sewing the sequin fabric slowly.In case the sequin stuck in the serger,it would be better to sew it slowly.
5.After sewing the fabric,there are may some sequins drop from the middle of the sequin fabric.you can easy to see if there is missing sequins.Then have to sew and mend it to make it good look.
6.Care Instruction.Do not iron it.The sequin is made from plastic material,it would be damage it if iron it.
